MIA

I can't believe how long I have been MIA.  I just noticed my last post was August 1st and so much has happened since then.  We moved out of the house we were renting and are currently spending the week at my in-law's until the new house we will be renting is ready.  I am so excited to get moved in and set up.

My little man has started walking, yes can you believe it, walking.  He is now 9 1/2 months old and growing so fast.  I love watching him wobble around and he gets so excited when he realizes what he's doing that he always falls.

I started my new job this week as an elementary school nurse, it's stressing me out big time.  I'm trying to get used to the role of working mom and I'm not loving it so far.  It is so hard to leave him with strangers but I am so fortunate to have on site daycare in the school, which means I can go check on him whenever I want.  I also keep remembering how lucky I was to get 9 months off to spend with him, something a lot of mother's don't get to do, and that this job is to help us pay off some bills and get in the financial position to have a little brother or sister for Grant.  While I'm fully aware you can never fully prepare yourself for the financial aspects of children I at least want to be out of the red when we start trying so I can at least say my intentions were good.  After that, whatever happens, happens.

My mom is coming to visit next wednesday and I can't wait!  It seems like forever since I have seen her and hopefully I will have our house set up and presentable.  I can't wait to start crafting again, I am itching to get some projects done and soon enough there will be some baby shower posts as I prepare for the twin's shower.

Be back soon with something crafty to show you!

Little Man Tie

Unfortunately my husband's grandpa past away last week so we attended a funeral over the weekend.  I wanted Grant to be dressed up, more so than the usual polo shirt.  While looking through the Goodwill for my husband a pair of dress pants I past the men's ties and I remembered this tutorial I have had saved on my computer forever with great intentions of making one for Grant.  I am all about repurposing lately so I immediately thought of using one of my husband's ties, only to find out he has 3, 2 of which are Christmas ones.  So I bought one at the Goodwill for all of $0.50 and this is how it turned out.

Grant didn't have any solid button up dress shirts so I lucked out and found one of those at the Goodwill too.  This picture is before I washed and ironed it so it looks a mess but I wanted you to see what the tie looks like with the shirt.

Is this too cute or what.  Perfect for church, weddings, or any event you need to dress up for.

It was actually a really easy and fast project.  The only trouble I had was figuring out how to tie the tie, the rest was a piece of cake.  I've already told my mom to be on the lookout for more ties at yard sales so I can make him some more for church.
