My 3 month old son giggled out loud yesterday for the first time and it was the most beautiful sound in the world. I think the world stopped for just one perfect moment. Hearing him and seeing that smile just confirmed that being at home with him was where I am supposed to be. I couldn't help but think that if I had gone back to work I wouldn't have heard him and maybe whoever was babysitting him would have gotten to hear it instead, which would have broke my heart.
Definately one of the greatest joys of motherhood.
